How Can I Help?

1. Be A Volunteer

VolunteersThank you for wanting to join us in our quest to help children from adverse backgrounds. Your input is very significant. Some of you may not be able to commit long-term but you may be able to contribute in another way.

Being a volunteer is a life-changing, rewarding, memorable, meaningful and challenging experience! Attached are some testimonials of volunteers who have made a difference in the lives of our children. These may inspire you to do something within your capacity to help the children.

How do you start? Please fill out the volunteer form. This is standard procedure and it will also give you an idea of how you can get involved. Please attach a recent photograph of yourself and return it to us. Once we have received the form, we will call you to discuss the details.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They include working adults, students, interns, retired persons, professionals, consultants, housewives, grandmothers and grandfathers!
There are different areas of work in which you can volunteer. Some of them are as follows:-

  1. To help teach - tuition, living skills, computer lessons, sports/games, art and craft, music and dance, floral arrangements, tailoring, cooking/baking or hairdressing.
  2. To provide a service - medical, dental, optical, spring cleaning, gardening, repairs/maintenance including for electrical products, air-conditioners, house wiring, etc, transport, hairdressing, groceries or laundry.
  3. To help organize - fundraising efforts, PR events, advertising campaigns, outings/recreation or camps.
  4. To help in other ways

We look forward to you joining us!

2. Give A Donation

DonationsYes! I will help you to help our children!
Help us to rebuild broken lives. Because of our tax-exempt facility, we do not have an online facility but require you to fill up the form and post/fax to us. Your gift (however large or small) will contribute towards a better life for our children. Thank you.

Ssponsor a child3. Sponsor A Child

Individual donors or organizations may get more personally involved with Shelter by sponsoring a child. It costs at least RM450.00 per month to maintain a child in Shelter. Sponsors may contribute the full sum or part of it.

This amount will help pay for the following: -

  • Food, and living expenses
  • Personal clothing and medical fees
  • Pocket money and other needs
  • School fees, books, fees, tuition, uniforms, transport

Donors will receive regular updates of the child. Those interested can call us (603-79550663) or email us at shelter@po.jaring.my.

4. Sponsor An Expense

You can also opt to sponsor Shelter's fixed operating expenses such as the following:

  • Assessment rates
  • Water bills
  • Electricity bills
  • Rental of premises

Your sponsorship of expenses will go a long way in defraying our standard operating expenses and help us to channel more funds towards service and child care expenses. Those interested can call us (603-79550663) or email us at shelter@po.jaring.my.
